Employee engagement is really a means to an end, and organizations that want to
drive high levels of business success, need motivated and engaged employees to get there. A
number of studies have shown definite links between employee engagement and financial
success in organizations. However, employee engagement is ultimately an individual choice.
It is entirely a personal decision on the part of an employee on whether to stretch himself (or
herself) and offer an outstanding performance or to contribute at a minimum level, or be
dysfunctional. The likelihood of employees remaining engaged and productive is more when
the environment is relatively happy and stress free. At times of crisis however, the
environment within the organization takes a turn for the worse, and it is during crisis period
that leadership comes under stress. This paper analyses leadership and employee
engagement and offers suggestions for better leadership strategies. This paper also
introduces “Combo Leadership” as a possible strategy of customized leadership
intervention, to reduce possible negativism in the organizational environment, in a situation
where an external leader, brought in as a Change Agent in an ailing organization, causes the
environment to not remain condusive to Employee Engagement, due to predominance in
“Task Orientation” at the cost of “People Orientation”. Combo Leadership proactively
utilizes existing trust on an anchor and positive grapevine as means of establishing
confidence within the organization, and thereby re-energizing employee engagement in the
face of leadership crisis.

In India, as in many other countries of the world, there is a vast difference between
the idealised concept of women and the real life situation in which women find themselves.
Women in the Indian society have a degraded status because of the prevalence of multiple
factors such as illiteracy, exploitation, unemployment, female infanticide, child marriage,
dowry, prostitution, rape, widowhood, wife beating and purdah system, all of which have
prevented the Indian women from attaining greater heights. It must be remembered that
women‟s status is not a just a matter of cultural and social history of traditions but it is
basically rooted in the political and economic structure of our society which needs to be
changed. Women are denied the right to own or inherit property and they become dependent
on men, which renders them vulnerable to exploitation. Although the women contribute
through their labour in maintaining the household, it is never recognised as productive labour.
Women‟ contribution to the economy goes unregistered while the contribution of the males
gets listed.

The country which is succeeded to use the available resources fully for the production
is called developed country. If the process of utilization of resources is going on for the
production in the country then that country is called developing country. If the country is
having resources but country has no power to use the resources for production that country is
known as un-developed country. But now a days no country is undeveloped, therefore
countries are classified only under two heads as developed and developing or underdeveloped
country.

The main goal of mathematics education in schools is to develop the child’s thinking.
Clarity of thought and pursuing assumptions to logical conclusions is central to the
mathematical enterprise. Mathematics is the mother of all sciences. Mathematics is an
important part of life, without which everything in life falls apart. From beggar to
businessman, cobbler to construction engineer, student to scientist, Astrologers to astronauts
literally everyone would be using mathematics in some way or the other. Mathematics is full
of magic and mysteries. The ancient Indians were able to understand these mysteries and
develop simple keys to solve these mysteries. Thousands of years ago the Indians used these
techniques in different fields like construction of temples, astrology, medicine, science etc.,
due to which India emerged as the richest country in the world.

research provides current approaches along with implication in teaching learning process. We
distribute knowledge in verity of discipline for making structure storage each discipline
provide much specific information about a particular concept and while going to apply that
knowledge in education we find that each and every discipline is interdependent. While we
use particular concept with combination of discipline we find that is helpful for concept

libraries are in transition because of changes in the context of higher education.
Changes in the world of information are even more radical. Creativity and innovation
entail risk and risk is good for libraries. Librarian with low risk tolerances will not be
able to sustain the environment necessary creativity or innovation. We must concede
that if we want the benefits of creativity and innovation, we must accept the inevitable
failure that result from trying something new and welcome them as learning

The quality concept was initially focused on tangible products manufactured
by industrial organizations later it covered services like municipal services, police,
health & education. In the prevailing environment of globalization & free market the
concept of total quality management has become the essential prerequisite for the
success of any service dealing with any product rather service. TQM in education has
a basic difficulty in measurement. Quality in higher education is reflected in
evaluation of students’ attainment but it is very difficult to measure the contribution
of various factors for the rise in quality. This study focuses on perception of students
towards total quality management in higher education institutions in the district of
Sindhudurg. This is the objective of the study. For present study the researcher uses
descriptive method of survey type. The tool was prepared by the researcher. Twelve
Degree Colleges in Sindhudurg District were the population of the study. Out of 12
colleges 8 were aided colleges and 4 were un-aided colleges were randomly selected
and students were randomly selected. The sample selected for the study was based on
simple random sampling technique. In this study total quality management has been
explored by covering three aspects regarding Human resources management,
Operating procedure and Organizational Commitment. In order to examine the quality
of education and its three aspects mean, standard deviation and t-test were applied.

The concept of voluntary retirement became popular after liberalization. It has its
origin in civil services for over a century. Most of the state governments in India have provisions for
voluntary retirement. However, in the private sector, the idea of VRS developed after 1991. Many
large private organisations provide for retirement of an employee before reaching the age of
superannuation. Many even provide incentives to employees who choose for voluntary retirement. It
is now called as „Golden Hand-shake‟.
