IMMIGRATION AND MIGRANTS CULTURE
Eesha Bhagwat And Sandip Mane
DOI : 10.5281/amierj.7090360
Abstract
Certificate
The term immigration refers specifically to international migration that is relatively permanent in nature.
Immigrants are those individuals who have moved to a new country on a relatively permanent basis. Of
importance, refugees are a particular type of immigrant, defined and protected by international law. They
are individuals who have been formally recognized as having fled their country of residence because of a
well-founded fear of persecution, armed conflict, violence, or war. Until they are recognized as such, these
individuals are asylum seekers-individuals who have claimed refugee status and are waiting for that claim to
be evaluated. Despite the relative permanence of immigration, advances in transportation and communication
mean that immigrants are able to travel to, spend time in, and communicate on a regular basis with their
country of origin.

Most of the customs are related to social expectations of what a particular society expects women to do (or not
to do) during pregnancy, birth and/or the postnatal period. A qualitative and quantitative study comprising of
data from 50 mothers, 6 in-depth face-to-face interviews and few interviews with gynaecologist and health

developed and developing nations globally. Scholars, especially those related to the social sciences, have always
written and researched on social development and public participation. Even then, there is no consensus on a
clear definition of development and public participation or how to measure it. For those who prioritize economic

include human-related development in the definition of development. Public participation in rural development
has always been in the context of Indian rural society. But through the present study, an attempt is being made

E-MENTORING AS A TOOL TO REDUCE GENDER DISPARITY IN EDUCATION, POSTCOVID 2019
Dr. Arti Bhatnagar And Ms. Neha Madan
DOI : 10.5281/amierj.7090506
Abstract
Certificate
“Let’s give tomorrow women better choices than the one we have faced past this year”.
Sustainable Development Goals (4) aim to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education for all by 2030. The
goals also put emphasis on reducing gender disparity and empowering all to lead a life of dignity. Education for
sustainable development is an effective and only tool for countries like India which aims to achieve SDG goals
especially for empowering girls. Although India has performed well in achieving UPE, yet the problem of USE
remain a dream especially among adolescence girls. Secondary education in general is a time of gross upheaval
in the life of girls especially in relation to their studies and education.Getting educated or pursuing education at
this stage becomes a dream for many. The onslaught of Covid-19 helped in expanding this gap further. School
closure during covid-19 affected 1.6 billion learners which posed an alarming threat to gender disparity
(UNESCO-2030). Girls are more at risk of losing out because they are discriminated against in terms of access
to technology, time, household chores, child marriage, sexual exploitation and other related issues. Hence it
becomes imperative that girls are provided with strategies and solutions to mitigate this loss of learning. This
paper focuses on the use of E-mentoring as a strategy to deal with above crisis and to mitigate the challenges
posed by Covid-19 on girl’s education. Keeping in mind the challenges and limitations posed by Covid -19 on
education of girls Mentoring could be a step forward. Not only in On-line mode but also when school reopens.
This would also be helpful for those who could not access education from formal means.
E-mentoring is a new context where the mentoring process between the mentor and protégé operates through
online processes. E-Mentoring can be operated through three different modes keeping the means and context
of the mentor and mentored in view. It could be fully virtual, blended or face to face. The mentors through
E-Mentoring shall not only provide academic support but also emotional and social support to these girls.
Hence this paper shall focus on E mentoring as atool to bridge gender gap in education especially in the post

IMPACT OF HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT ON BUISNESS ENVIRONMENT
Dr. Nazia Naqvi And Dr. Ali Mehdi
DOI : 10.5281/amierj.7090508
Abstract
Certificate
Human Resource Management is the most significant aspect of any enterprise because it involves effective
management of the employees in the organisation. Employees are the biggest assets of any organisation, which
makes Human Resource Management a domain that needs to be highly effective in order to make the employees
as well as the organisation strive towards success's In the contemporary context, the Indian management
mindscape continues to be influenced by the residual traces of ancient wisdom as it faces the complexities of
global realities. One stream of holistic wisdom, identified as the Vedantic philosophy, pervades managerial
behavior at all levels of work organizations. This philosophical tradition has its roots in sacred texts from 2000
B.C. and it holds that human nature has a capacity for self transformation and attaining spiritual high ground
while facing realities of day to day challenges. Human Resource Management has evolved considerably over
the past century, and experienced a major transformation in form and function primarily within the past two
decades. Driven by a number of significant internal and external environmental forces, HRM has progressed
from a largely maintenance function, to what many scholars and practitioners today regard as the source of
sustained competitive advantage for organizations operating in a global economy. Some of the factors that
contribute to the evolvement of human resources management are technology, globalization, diversity, migration
and an aging workforce. In this article, we would be discussing the various Issues that HR is facing in today's
corporate scenario. A few challenges they have been able to overcome successfully but a lot of issues still need
to be dealt with. We would be discussing issues HR is facing in the present and some strategies which, if
adopted, can help the HRM to sustain better in the challenging and dynamic scenario. HR is a product of the
human relations movement of the early 20th century, when researchers began documenting ways of creating
business value through the strategic management of the workforce. The function was initially dominated by
transactional work, such as payroll and benefits administration, but due to globalization, company consolidation,
technological advancement, and further research, HR now focuses on strategic initiatives like mergers and
acquisitions, talent management, succession planning, industrial and labor relations, and diversity and inclusion.

settings. Moreover, the author with the collaborating faculty has explained the process of virtual collaborative
resource sharing between the two Institutes. The collaborative resource sharing started with designing, planning
and framing the resource sharing policy agreed upon by the two Institutes. The collaborating faculty used the
theoretical basis of Community of Inquiry, Self -directed learning, Learner empowerment, Design Thinking,
Revised Bloom's Taxonomy and Technology. Pedagogy and Content Knowledge (TPACK). The Model also
gave importance to reflective pedagogy and stimulated reflective writing amongst the students. The collaborations
were scaffolded with the help of student centric teaching approaches like inquiry based, problem based and
experiential learning. The Model in its designing to performance kept in mind the social values and individual
empowerment. The quality education for maximum number of students was the crux of the DEEP Model for

to guide student teachers to become experts in the field of study, capable of identifying the problems based on
the domain knowledge of the discipline and analyzing and contributing to the solutions in a completely online
mode.
The online training package, designed on the lines of ADDIE model is assigned four credits and student teachers
need to put in 120 hours of study for completion of the training. The package incorporates PBLS, follows
collaborative approach and has provision of scaffolds. The study was conducted on 41 student teachers of
Hansraj Jivandas College of Education. The student teachers were selected on the basis of their competence in
the use of computer and internet. The student teachers undertook the online training in Scaffolded Problem
Based Learning strategy (PBLS) wherein the student teachers had to solve ten problems related to difficulties
faced by school teachers and administrators in the implementation of various aspects of PBLS. For every
problem the researcher conducted a problem discussion, identification and definition in a synchronous mode
and observed the student teachers during the process.
The researcher observed the student teachers during the process of problem discussion and identification and
defining of the problem, in a synchronous mode. Observations indicate that the student teachers took less time
as they proceeded from problem one to problem ten with respect to problem discussion, identification and
problem definition. Also ambiguity with respect to the process of problem discussion reduced and student
teachers gained confidence about the problem discussion, identification and definition process.

Abstract

During the past two years, schools, colleges and universities, shut down due to the Covid-19 pandemic, causing disruptions in pre-service teacher education in many parts of the world. The training dimension that was hardest hit was the pre-service practicum. Due to the locked down, prospective teachers were deprived of the ‘normal’ field experience and actual classroom teaching practices in authentic school settings. Various practicum modalities however unfolded all over the globe and these are documented in many papers published during 2020 and early 2021. (Donitsa-Schmidt & Ramot, 2020), (Ellis et al 27],( Zhang, W., Wang, Y., Yang, L., & Wang, C. 2020),( Ferdig, R. E., Baumgartner, E., Hartshorne, R., Kaplan-Rakowski, R., & Mouza, C. 2020),( Ersin, P. I, & Atay, D. 2021) they do present detailed exposition about the impact of COVID-19 on the pre-service teacher education. These studies help us to explore, how pedagogies got adapted when students, learners and teacher educators moved to new online spaces. These studies also help us to understand, how established student teaching practices changed quickly, with students showing an immense disposition for change

DOI : 10.5281/AMIERJ.7281727
Abstract
Certificate
The drive for globalisation has contributed to the emergence of global citizens who must work together and stand as one. Citizens who are a part of this globalisation process are not just citizens; rather, they are global citizens who have contributed to the world's various cultures coming together and seeming as one huge family. Despite the fact that the globalisation movement became more visible in the 1990s, the idea of global citizenship has existed in various forms since ancient times and may be found throughout history. With the advancement of technology and economic development there exist a paradoxical pattern that the world is diverse yet closely knit. One has to understand and behave in a socially just manner while dealing with a multi-diverse world or population. Justice is a basic requirement of life similar to the air we breathe, an essential element for living. Pre-service teachers play a pivotal role in shaping the future of students as they progress through the education system which becomes the bedrock for instilling values. It is therefore essential for pre-service teachers to be familiar with global citizenship and social justice. This study attempts to measure pre-service teachers perception towards global citizenship and social justice. The sample for the study consisted of 1054 pre service teachers of aided and unaided institutes. Both aided and unaided teacher training institutes play a major role in the formation of teachers fostering the value system in the lives of future generations. Hence this study considered it important to measure perception of pre service teachers towards global citizenship and social justice of aided and unaided institutes of Mumbai. Along with the responses administered from the tool, focused group interview was also conducted to validate the findings obtained through the quantitative responses. The findings of the study indicate that pre service teachers of aided institutes had a better perception of social justice and pre service teachers of unaided institutes had a better perception of global citizenship.

IMPACT OF INTEGRATED CURRICULUM APPROACH ON STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT
Ms. Farah Shaikh & Dr. Reni Francis
DOI : 10.5281/AMIERJ.7281775
Abstract
Certificate
The changing nature of knowledge in recent times is argued to be a key reason why educators need to consider curriculum integration. Curriculum integration is a curriculum design that repositions subject content through collaboration and experience in order to increase its meaning and relevance to students, holding less regard for disciplinary boundaries than traditional didactical approaches. The purpose of this research is to study the effectiveness of Integrated Curriculum Approach (ICA) in the learning of science among the secondary school students. In order to test the effectiveness of the approach across the different boards, namely SSC CBSE and CIE the researcher adopted an experimental study. The study consisted of 260 students as a sample of English medium Secondary Schools associated to SSC, CBSE and CIE board from Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. A multivariate analysis ANOVA employed to evaluate the results of the study. The significance of the approach with the integrated system were tested using t test.
