MICRO- CREDENTIALS: EMERGENCE AS A VIABLE ALTERNATIVE IN EDUCATION
Dr. Meenakshi Lath
DOI : 10.5281/amierj.6967375
Abstract
Certificate
The COVID-19 pandemic has been an evolutionary force in higher education - in more ways
than just making information and communication technology the vehicle for learning. It has
resulted in a sea-change in the way the future of higher education is perceived by all the
stakeholders. Even before the pandemic - many countries including the U.S. and our own
country were witnessing what may well be called ‘a bubble’ in the higher education sector -
implying that degrees and higher education are getting so expensive that it is almost impossible
to recover the expenses incurred in acquiring the degree within a reasonable period of time.
The increasing trend of piling student loans and rising unemployment does not bode well for
higher education as it is traditionally conceptualized. Further, there is often a considerable
gap in employability and the needs of the employer. In several economic sectors - we have
seen the corporate world take over the training to fill the employability gap. Bubbles, as we
know too well - have a propensity to burst. Micro- credentials are a relatively new trend in
education which has gained momentum as the pandemic progressed. This conceptual paper
explores the emergence of micro- credentialing as a viable alternative pathway to meaningful
learning and reviews some of the current trends and literature in the field.

and functioning about blue brain. The blue brain project is swiss brain research their aims to
create a digital reconstruction of human brain. Blue brain is the project which was discovered
by neurologist Henry Markram (Israeli) after his successful theory about blue brain project
then he was moved to IBM and carried out their project with IBM. Generally blue brain is the
name given to the world first virtual brain. That means the machine can function like Human's
or Human brain. They attempt to create an artificial brain in which it can perform several
functions just like humans like they can think, Sense, Response, take Decision and anything in

PLASSEY: THE BATTLE IN NAME, BUT THE REVOLUTION IN NATURE
Mohd Tahir
DOI : 10.5281/amierj.6967562
Abstract
Certificate
In 1599, John Mildenhall reached India. He was the First English trader who landed in India.
In the very next year (1600 A.D), the English East India Company was established in Britain
to trade with India. It took them almost first one and half centuries (1600-1757) to come into
the limelight. However, the mid-eighteenth century witnessed the transformation of the English
East India Company from a commercial enterprise to a status of mighty political power. The
main reason behind this transformation was the decline of Central Power in India. About
Bengal, it was mainly the commercial rivalry between the British and the Nawabs of Bengal,
which plotted the battle of Plassey (1757). The deterioration in the administration provided a
chance for the English Company to play a significant job in the politics of Bengal. After an
easy success at Plassey, the company's priority shifted towards establishing an extended
empire in India rather than collecting revenue. The fertile and prosperous region of Bengal
played a vital role to maintain its trade and military strength. Moreover, the changing
economic condition in Europe, like the advent of the industrial revolution and the weakening
of political authority in India provided the Company with a perfect atmosphere to deepen its
root in Bengal and then spreading its jurisdiction to other parts of India. In a nutshell, it can
be said that the annexation of Bengal upgraded the overall status of the Company in India.
The result of Plassey not only multiplied the financial growth of the company but also
magnified its political and diplomatic tactics. This is all we have witnessed when they
outperformed all their competitors, either they were Indian traders and political powers or
European trading companies. Battle of Plassey changed the course of Indian history. It marked
the beginning of Modern India [political changes] with the establishment of political
hegemony of East India Company in India.

NICHE TOURISM IN WEST BENGAL: APPLYING THE LONG TAIL MARKET APPROACH
Dr. Sreejita Mukherjee
DOI : 10.5281/amierj.6967592
Abstract
Certificate
The state of West Bengal in eastern India is in search of alternate economic development
avenues. Tourism can serve this purpose. The state is rich not only in major tourist attractions,
but also a myriad of small tourist products with definite but limited appeal. It is possible to
develop these small tourist products into niche tourist markets. The internet plays a very
important role in marketing these products. It helps to reach out to tourists who are separated
by space and who are looking for very definite experiences. This is the long tail marketing
approach to tourism. According to this approach, most of the revenue in the industry is
generated by mass tourists. But there are a few tourists who are actually looking for something
unique and different from the mass market. The internet has made it possible for these tourists
to come to know about the small niche destinations. The operators of such niche tourism face
no competition from the major players in the market. They can build up a respectable market
at minimal cost. Niche tourists are not looking for any artificial excitement, but they are
looking for real cultural experiences. The community must be open minded and friendly in
order to help in the growth of the niche tourism industry.

AN OVERVIEW OF FINANCIAL TECHNOLOGY IN INDIA
Mr. Apurva A. Phanshikar & Dr. Deepak P. Sable
DOI : 10.5281/amierj.6967681
Abstract
Certificate
One of the Financial Technology solution is Unified Payment Interface (UPI), this is well
known. Financial Technology is commonly known as Fintech. Financial technology (Fintech)
along with UPI is steadily penetrating and shaping the global financial system in the manner it
operates. (Gartner) published a blog on financial technology (FinTech), ‘Financial
Technologies (Fintech’s) are start-up technology providers that approach financial business in
innovation (sometimes disruptive) ways through emerging technologies. Financial
Technology (Fintech’s) can fundamentally change the way in which a financial services
institution’s products and services are created, are distributed, and generate revenue. The term
may also refer to the technologies these providers offer’. It also known for its seamless and
transparent financial transaction. Due to this feature, Financial Technology (Fintech) is known
as digital/disruptor in financial sector. Currently, traditional banks are collaborating with
Financial Technology (Fintech); which would help them in improving competition amongst
the traditional banking sectors. This partnership will also allow the traditional banks improve
and develop tailor-made products and services for its existing and future customers. Due to
growing importance of Financial Technology (Fintech) globally, it has attracted around US$
12Bn in Q2 of 2019.
In India, there are 1,000+ start-up companies in Financial Technology (Fintech) Indian market
the start-up culture was recorded a decade back but has only started gaining importance in
recent years. This number is rapidly growing to cater the un-tapped Indian consumer base.
Still, in India Financial Technology (Fintech) has not replaced the traditional banking system,
however making in-roads as a parallel platform. The Indian banks should swiftly adopt to
growing acceptance of Financial Technology (Fintech) in banking space by partnering with
them for the overall betterment of its customers
