DOI : 10.5281/amierj.16265002
Abstract
Certificate
The world is changing rapidly, and this transformation is essential. Let's consider a straightforward example: when cooking a meal, a chef must accurately estimate the precise amount of food needed. This estimation depends on several factors, including the number of people being served, how many types of food are prepared, and various other considerations. The primary intention behind these calculations is to minimize food waste. This paper follows the same principle of minimization of waste and focuses on improving consumer satisfaction through AI-driven demand forecasting in the gig economy. Traditional demand forecasting methods often struggle to accurately predict the consumption of products or services across different companies, making it challenging to meet customer needs effectively. By leveraging AI-driven demand forecasting, businesses can plan more accurately to meet customer demand. Regardless of the industry, the goal is to achieve accuracy and efficiency in service delivery. AI-driven forecasting enhances the demand forecasting process by using algorithms that produce more precise demand predictions. This paper explores the role of AI in demand forecasting within the gig economy, examining its applications, benefits, challenges, and solutions while comparing it to traditional demand forecasting techniques. This paper also provides examples from different sectors to clarify the topic.

Agriculture and industry are closely related through agro-based enterprises. In addition to processing and adding value to agricultural products, these sectors make sure that customers can access and purchase them. They accomplish this by offering a vital link between agriculture and the larger economy. The development of agro-industry can also have an important impact on the local agricultural sector as well as the livelihoods of small holder farmers, provided their basic requirements are taken care by the government and facilitate the environment in which the rural people in general and poor in particular would find a sustainable livelihood. Agro-based companies are essential in promoting sustainable development because agriculture is the foundation of many emerging economies. Through effective resource utilization, climate change mitigation, and rural development, these industries—which rely heavily on agricultural products as their core raw materials—promote sustainability and economic prosperity. Examining the economic factors and effects of agricultural research, especially biotechnology research, this work aims to comprehend how agricultural biotechnology may be used to help the impoverished in emerging nations.

DOI : 10.5281/amierj.16269360
Abstract
Certificate
The gig economy provides rural women with an opportunity to earn income and gain independence by offering flexible, short-term jobs through online platforms. In many rural areas, women often face limited employment opportunities, low wages, and cultural restrictions on their work. The gig economy helps break these barriers by enabling women to take on jobs like freelancing, delivery, and home-based businesses, which can be done remotely or on their own schedule. This flexibility allows women to balance work and family responsibilities, while also increasing their income and developing valuable skills. Moreover, the independence gained from these jobs boosts their confidence and economic stability. However, challenges persist, such as poor internet access in rural areas, and social barriers that may limit women's participation in the gig economy. Despite these obstacles, the gig economy remains a powerful tool for empowering rural women and improving their socio-economic conditions.

The laws of complexities hold universally irrespective of system’s constituent parameter. Many real world phenomenon that are part of our everyday life like fluid flow, dripping tap, beating heart, population growth( human, animal, viruses etc.), weather forecasting, national economy, noise in electronic circuit are non-linear in nature.[1] Degree of predictability is the major distinctions between linear and non linear system. Even a relatively simple system can become chaotic for certain range of parameter. In this paper we will discuss how Logistic map (mathematical model) and Lyapunov exponent (a tool to quantify the sensitivity) can be use to understand the course of gig economy, a complex system in itself. Gig economy is characterize by many parameters apart from flexibility and independence. With reference to logistic map keeping the growth rate at optimum value will prevent the system either from entering in chaotic zone or stagnancy.

MALINVESTMENT, CREDIT CYCLES, AND THE SUSTAINABILITY OF THE GIG ECONOMY: AN AUSTRIAN BUSINESS CYCLE PERSPECTIVE
Mr. Sairam Iyer
DOI : 10.5281/amierj.16269908
Abstract
Certificate
A rapid growth has been witnessed in the gig economy of India, leading to absorption of displaced labour during recessions and other phases of bust. The Hayekian business cycle theory under the umbrella of Austrian School of Economics puts forth the idea that the periods of economic booms stimulated by artificially lowered interest rates misguide the economic actors into undertaking malinvestment, viz. Misallocation of capital and other scarce resources. This malinvestment eventually requires correction, which descends upon the defunct economic system as a recession. While the labour roles and positions most seen within the gig economy are often viewed as a flexible fix adopted during labour downtimes or during stretches of underemployment, such economic opportunities are reliant on Venture Capital (VC), which raises concerns about sustainability. This paper critically examines whether gig platforms in India represent a genuine and sustained labor market correction during such phases of bust, or are merely another form of short lived malinvestment in face of monetary tightening that reduces easy credit.

Vandana Anuj Kedia
DOI : 10.5281/amierj.16271322
Abstract
Certificate
The rapid growth of the gig economy in India has led to an increase in the number of workers engaged in freelance and platform-based employment. However, these gig workers often lack access to formal social security systems. In response, the Government of India introduced the E-Shram application to register unorganized sector workers and extend welfare benefits to them. Despite its objectives, the awareness and adoption of the E-Shram platform among gig workers remain limited. This exploratory research employed a survey-based methodology, targeting gig workers across India to assess their level of awareness regarding the E-Shram application. The findings indicate that a substantial percentage of gig workers are unaware of the platform, with key barriers including low digital literacy, inadequate dissemination of information, and procedural difficulties. The study recommends the implementation of targeted awareness campaigns, simplification of the registration process, and strategic partnerships with gig economy platforms to increase accessibility and engagement. These measures are essential to bridge the awareness gap and ensure that gig workers receive the social security benefits provided by the E-Shram initiative. Future research should explore the long-term impact of E-Shram and how policy changes can further improve worker protection.

The gig economy has significantly transformed various industries, including library and information science (LIS). As freelance, contract-based, and temporary work arrangements become more prevalent, LIS professionals are increasingly engaging in gig-based roles, particularly in specialized domains such as collection development in medical college libraries (Tian and Chen, 2024). This shift presents both opportunities and challenges in collection development, a crucial aspect of library management that ensures access to relevant, high-quality resources for medical education and research (Senthurvelmurugan, 2011). In the context of medical college libraries, the gig economy offers LIS professionals the flexibility to work on short-term projects such as digital curation, metadata management, and subscription negotiations (Gussek and Wiesche, 2023). Freelancers and contract librarians can contribute to resource acquisition, licensing, and the integration of digital tools without being tied to traditional full-time employment (Gaikwad and Bilawar, 2023). However, these opportunities also come with challenges, including job insecurity, inconsistent professional development, and difficulties in coordinating long-term collection strategies (Goswami and Biswas, 2011).
