WISELY MANAGED CLASSROOM TECHNOLOGY

DOI : 10.5281/EIIRJ.7197692
Abstract

One theme that runs through everything we do is innovation. Sounds like almost
everyone else, right? But honestly, it’s a word we don’t toss around lightly—
especially when it comes to education. We believe that finding new and innovative
methods of teaching is a crucial skill for teachers.
In the early twentieth century, before the advent of technology in the teaching
methods, the instructor was the transmitter and the learners were the receivers of the
knowledge being transferred. The typical medium can be imagined as a board, chalk
was followed for decades and still in practice at many places. The instructor is the
centre of this model delivering factual knowledge to the whole group of learners and
having a complete authority in the classroom. The students have a minimum role to
play here and the just at the receiving end of the transmission

the defining marks of humanity is the ability to affect and predict our environment.
Science is the creation of structure. For our world and technology, the use of
structure has been stepping stone to our progress. Women and men have researched
and solved each emerging need. At a glance, women in general might look like one
of the many housewives – simple, docile, unassuming and humble. But make no

STUDY OF OXYGEN CONSUMPTION VALUE AND BIOLOGICAL PARAMETERS
Momin Shaziya Mohammed Irfan & Pillai Pramoda Sasidharan
DOI : 10.5281/EIIRJ.7198215
Abstract
Certificate
The present investigation is carried out using effluent water from the dyeing
industries of Bhiwandi city. Most of the chemicals present in the effluent water when
discharged into main water bodies consume oxygen for oxidation and decomposition
purposes. They reduce the level of oxygen in water which in turn causes mortality of
the bio-organisms. The dyeing industry creates water pollution as the waste
generated from the different wet processes like scouring, bleaching, dyeing and
printing are very harmful. They cause chemical pollution due to discharge of
various chemicals and disturb the normal functioning of living organisms (bioorganisms)
in water. This research work has been carried out to assess the effect of
pollution on the quality of water (which could also be a source of drinking water)
and on bio-organisms. Water samples collected from the dyeing industry were
analyzed for amount of Oxygen and for biological parameter. It has been observed
that reduction in dissolved oxygen concentration is one of the most important factors
that directly affect the lifecycle of most of the aquatic animals. The results of oxygen
consumed by the chemicals are then compared with the standard values prescribed
by the standard bodies

Agriculture is a primary occupation of human being. It plays an important role for
stable and economically sound life of human. It is a science of growing different
crops from the land. In prehistoric period, human was attracted towards the rivers
in search of water. They started to grow crops according to traditional ways. Now a

Agriculture is depending on water, soil, weather and such natural resources. Nature
has provided various resources for agriculture. Our basic needs like food, shelter
and cloth are totally depending on agriculture, man of the rural areas aagriculture

developing or undeveloped countries, agriculture playing a critical role for overall
development. Many scholars have already devoted at large to highlight the
important role and changes in agrarian sector. In historical period study of
Alexander Von Humboldt, Arther Young, and Von Thunen have provided their large
contributions. In India Dr. Swaminathan, Dr. Bhatiya, Prof. B. C. Vaidya, Prof.
Praveen Saptarshi, Dr. Ramchandra Sable and other have focused the importance of
agriculture. Depending on weather conditions, agriculture is categorized into
following categories. i.e. Intensive Agriculture, Subsistence Farming, Extensive

Monsoon rainfall with irrigation facility is popular and known for cash crop
production. Small land size, large dependent population and more than 60 % of land
depends on monsoon rainfall. Availability and continuous supply of water is very
important for any crop. Without water, life is impossible. All living things, trees,

COUNSELLING AND FAMILY THERAPY THROUGH OPEN AND DISTANCE LEARNING: SKILL DEVELOPMENT AND QUALITY ASSURANCE IN TRAINING OF PROFESSIONALS – THE INDIAN EXPERIENCE
Amiteshwar Ratra & Neerja Chadha
DOI : 10.5281/EIIRJ.7198237
Abstract
Certificate
The fast-changing scenario of modern India poses many challenges to be met by the
family members as a unit and the professionals working for the promotion of family
well-being. The family is the basic unit of the society. The inter-relatedness of the
individual, the family and the social context is now being increasingly recognized
and emphasized. In response to this recognition, counselling and family therapy has
emerged, worldwide, as a new area that adopts a holistic perspective and seeks to
improve the psychological well-being of the person by addressing not just him or her
individually, but also the significant others in the immediate social milieu.
An innovative professional degree programme for training of professionals in the
area of counselling and family therapy is thus a need of the hour. This need has been
addressed by the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) in India by
developing and launching Master of Science in Counselling and Family Therapy
M.Sc.(CFT) and Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Family Therapy
PGDCFT). These programmes of study are modular in nature and have been
developed with open learning paradigm and are delivered through the open and
distance learning and technology mediated methodology with judicious blending.
This paper discusses at length the processes involved in development and quality
assurance for these programmes and lays emphasis on how these programmes
promote skill-set development for these professional cadres. Rigorous efforts have
been made to keep up quality assurance of the said programmes. The paper
concludes by highlighting crucial aspects of preparation of course content and
course material — print, audio and video, along with a discussion on the built-in
provisions for experiential learning emphasizing on skill development.

PROMOTING POSITIVE PARENTING AND FOSTERING HEALTHY PARENT-CHILD RELATIONSHIPS THROUGH DISTANCE EDUCA
Amiteshwar Ratra
DOI : 10.5281/EIIRJ.7198246
Abstract
Certificate
Strengthening positive parenting skills and optimal parent-child relationship in the
contemporary dynamic world dominated by westernization and individuation has
become important. Parenting in the Indian context in the earlier times tended to be
described as a mix of pampering during young age and strictness from middle
childhood years onwards; of indulgence and warmth by the mother and abstention
from display of affection and disciplinarianism of the father; and further
characterized by multiple caregivers in the family performing the parenting role!
With the change of time and need of the society, there have been massive influences
on the parent and the parenting process due to migration, industrialization,
westernization, breakdown of the joint family system, decline of the power of the
authority figure in the family system, and other such factors, resulting in a state of
flux. Given the fluidity of the scenario, it is hardly surprising to find that in the
contemporary era, the present-day parents tend to be on unsure grounds vis-à-vis
good parenting! The dynamic scenario of the society is irreversible, but something
has to be done to ensure that the lacunae are plugged and the support systems are
available. Taking cognizance of this need, promoting positive parenting and holistic
parent-child relationship through distance education and technology mediated
learning is envisioned, targeted particularly at the parents and family members. In
this proposed programme, the course content, faculty support, delivery mechanism,
knowledge acquisition and examination pattern should be such that accredits and
supports the learner. Even though a lot of content and jargon is available on the
internet and to some extent even through the print medium, but this information
tends to be sporadic; is generally westernized; and may not be relevant to our sociocultural
milieu. The presence of fallacies is also highly likely.
It is vital that the course content take into account the needs of the learning
community, considering their socio-cultural realities and contingencies. Education
through distance mode and technology mediated learning about positive parenting
would help the broad canvas of interested learners and prove to be a blessing for the
vast myriad of parents and other family members. Distance education and
technology mediated learning provides immense flexibility to the learners, and a
well-designed programme of study aiming to foster positive parenting and holistic
parent-child relationship offered through this mode is required as a much-awaited
response to a strong felt need. Developing MOOCs in this educational area and in
the Indian context is the social felt need of the society.

ROLE OF WOMEN IN NATION BUILDING AND DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

"Woman" is the best and unsurpassed creator of the Creator. Measuring the
beauty of the woman and the height of the serpent and its depth is not only
difficult but it is impossible. In the social, cultural, religious, geographical,
historical and literary world, there is also a revelation of the diverse forms of
women, not only the external, but the dysfunctional nature of interpersonal
interaction. Woman, nature, and God is a wonderful "holy sacrifice" given by
God, which is necessary to realize 'holy instrument'. There is no border or no
end to it! This is a vast form, in front of which the creator himself is also a
knit. This is 'Amrit-Varadaan' as well as 'Divine medicine'. Woman is the
smell of the mud of the soil, which carries the life-style and plays an
important role in not only personal but national-creation and development. For
women it should be said that this - "There is unity in diversity" ... then there
will be no exaggeration. Because there is variety in women's outer form,
beauty and dress, but in their mind there is 'Ekam' like monotony and central
power God. Around the same power, many types of virtues like the Sun and
other planets are constantly moving, such as faith, love, compassion, loyalty,
compassion, dedication, sacrifice, sacrifice, compassion, coolness, affection,
efficiency, dutifulness, tolerance, Limit, equality, creativity and tolerance etc.
-As a result of these many powers, there is wonderful and unparalleled
contribution of women's nation-building and development. We can understand
this continuous contribution of women through some points –

Robotics activities give abundant educational opportunities, but its impact and
reach have defined by the conventional way in which it has been introduced. While
projects including cars, vehicles and mobile robots are evidently appealing to young
people, many other young people do not become fully engaged in these types of
projects where development and usage of Educational Robotics (ER) are involved.
By offering alternate pathways into robotics that can gain student's attention, we
have a chance to engage a wider and more different people in new learning
experiences. This paper explores approaches for exposing students to robotic
technologies and ideas and explains the significance of implementing multiple ways
into robotics, to ensure that there are entry points to engage people with diverse

The country progresses not only of growth of income but it is dependent on the
sustainable growth of the economy. For the sustainable growth depends largely
upon the inclusion of all the sections of including the underprivileged and
marginalised sections of the populations into the mainstream of the society. One of
the way in which these can be brought to the mainstream is the easy accessibility of
financial products and services. Their small savings can be a great contributor to
the capital growth thereby it can be channelized credit requirement very same
marginalised groups. The central and state government are taking joint effort with
the financial institutions to bring these financial excluded groups into the
mainstream of the society. But the success rate is not much encouraging, it is evident
from the fact that there great divide between urban and rural population in availing
the financial products and services. There is great urgent need to bring these
sections of the population to the organised financial inclusion programme. In this

Dr. R. Dayanandan & Abraham Mamo
DOI : 10.5281/EIIRJ.7198350
Abstract
Certificate
Children are to be considered as vital human resource and future pillars of any
economy. Globally, the current trends of child care practice shows alternative child
care as form of community based care, foster care, and kinship care is increasing in
developing countries. Whereas, institutional care, inter country adoption and group
home care is not becoming preferable. However, in Ethiopia the practice has been
maintained in same order. With this insight, this paper focus on assessing the
current practices and challenges of other forms of alternative child care, knowledge
gaps of care givers, and factors determining well-functioning of the program in the
study area. Methodologically, the research employed quantitative research
paradigm. Primary data was collected through interview schedule from 80 care
givers, focus group discussion, and key informant interview, and supplemented with
secondary data sources. Purposive sampling method was employed to select the
study area and participants from all SOS children’s village program locations.
Collected data was analysed with SPSS (version 21) and descriptive statistics such
as mean, standard deviation were used for analysis to arrive the meaningful results.
In addition, binary logistic regression model was used to trace out the influential
factors of well functioning of the programme. The results revealed that, practice of
partnership with stakeholders and working in collaboration with the local
community, child participation, practice of reintegration and reunification activities
ensuring the best interest of the child were found not satisfactory. Whereas,
residential instability of care givers, implementation of guideline, provision of
quality health care, promoting local adoption and guardianship, absence of income
generating activities for care givers, care givers selection guideline are found high
challenges in the study area. Also, care givers lacks knowledge of parenting style,
child rights convention, and child protection polices due to lack of training and their
educational level. The regression results found that educational level, health
problem, food allowance, CBOs participation, community participation, medical
service and dependency ratio has significant relationship well-functioning of the
program in the study area. On the basis of the findings recommendations are
forwarded to strengthen the programme.

A CROSS – CULTURAL PERSPECTIVE OF THE SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL FACTORS AFFECTING GIFTED LEARNERS : YEAR 9 – YEAR 12
Diane Arlene D’Souza
DOI : 10.5281/EIIRJ.7198390
Abstract
Certificate
Dynamic classrooms emerge from the fact that modern day classes have mosaic of
learners, each with their own-harnessed synergies. The definition of gifted and
talented learners has undergone significant changes over the decades. Gifted and
talented learners are those who manage to camouflage the emotional and social
needs they have with their high ability with curriculum subjects. The classroom
culture and dynamics does play a significant role as these learners experience a
variety of spells of aloofness. Also, sometimes classroom interactions may not give
these learners an opportunity to build on their cognition, but may stagnate their
existing knowledge leading to boredom in classrooms. Strategies that these learners
may need to entail to thrive in these dynamic classrooms have been discussed in this
paper. The role of the teacher, parents and school is diagrammatically represented to
showcase their importance as social agents in the lives of these learners. This
research has a cross-cultural flavor as it was pieced together at Australian Catholic
University, Melbourne. My reflections from my work experience from India and
variety of literature used has also helped me shape this research to contemplate on
the social and emotional issues faced by these learners as a global teacher. The
importance of accelerated programs for these learners seems to be an obvious choice
to keep these learners engaged during school interaction. Hence, using an
accelerated program within a social circle would be the most beneficial for these
learners. Feedback from parents could not only serve as a good reflection base for
teachers and stakeholders but also be used as input to revise practices for these
learners in a school.

DOI : 10.5281/EIIRJ.7198416
Abstract
Certificate
Information Communication Technologies are the power that has changed many
aspects of lives. The impact of the ICT on each sector of the life across the past twothree
decades has been enormous. The education is a socially oriented activity.
Using ICTs in education it moved to more student-centered learning. The aim of the
study is to identify the effectiveness of using ICTs to promote teaching and learning
and to study the obstacles faced during the use of ICT in education. The major
barriers were lack of confidence, lack of competence, lack of access to resources and
shortage of time. Since confidence, competence and accessibility have been found to
be the critical components of technology integration in schools, ICT resources
including software and hardware, effective professional development, sufficient
time, and technical support need to be provided to teachers. No one component in
itself is sufficient to provide good teaching. However, the presence of all
components increases the possibility of excellent integration of ICT in learning and
teaching opportunities. Generally, this paper provides information and
recommendation to those responsible for the integration of new technologies into
education and suggests stimulating factors such as motivation and attractiveness to
design ICT based teaching learning

DOI : 10.5281/EIIRJ.7198469
Abstract
Certificate
Climate is one of the crucial parameters that determines the social and economic
aspects of a place. It is, therefore, important to be aware of the climatic patterns that
help in supporting the growth of the society at large. However, changes in climate
are greatly affecting people, animals and places all over the world. It alters weather
patterns, transforms landscapes and affects the habitat. It is, therefore, imperative
that climate change be discussed, such that the message not only disseminates to the
common man but it should intentionally be communicated such that it is well
comprehended. Explaining climate change scientifically to get the message across is
a challenge. Cartoons help overcome this challenge by visually presenting them,
thus helping to convey the serious matter in a lighter, yet information rich in
content. Single frame cartoons from leading websites on environment and nature are
selected using purposive sampling method. Ecocrtically analysing the cartoons helps
better understand the damage caused to nature and the human’s indifference to
curtail it. Cartoons mirror how risks are to be understood by humans and how
human action adversely affects climate change.Cartoons visually help communicate
and understand climate change better.

DOI : 10.5281/EIIRJ.7198479
Abstract
Certificate
Enterprises throughout the world are experiencing revolutionary changes: rising
energy and material costs, fierce international competition, new technologies,
increasing use of automation and computers. All these changes demand positive
response from the entrepreneurs if the enterprise is to survive in competitive
environment and prosper. Without innovation enterprises become obsolete. Success
in any business today demands constant innovation. In a dynamic environment,
success comes from looking for the next opportunity and having the ability to find
hidden connections and insights into new products or services as desired by
customer. Introducing new products us seen as part of the process of innovation, this
is itself seen as the engine driving continued growth and development. To grow and
prosper, most enterprises need to constantly improve their existing products and
services through continuously innovating needed changes. Enterprises that rely
exclusively on innovation will prosper until their products and services become
obsolete and non-competitive. Thus, entrepreneurs and enterprises are continuously
creative and innovative to remain relevant to the customers, which is the purpose of
every business. Innovation and entrepreneurship are the two important pillars of
economic growth which India need to develop as it progresses towards becoming a

Abstract

Sir Syed Ahmad Khan devoted his life to spread education among Muslims. When the
British introduced modern education in India, the Muslims looked upon it with
suspicion for they feared that the English language would weaken their faith. On the
other hand the Hindus who wholeheartedly embraced it progressed in all walks of
life. This opened the eyes of the Muslim intelligentsia of the time, chief among whom
was Sir Syed Ahmed Khan. He felt that English education was the only panacea for
the regeneration of Muslims. A great milestone in this direction was the foundation
of the Aligarh Scientific Society. The system of education, which Sir Syed advocated
was the modern European education without compromising with religious values. It
was in fact a rapprochement between science and religion

Time management in personal life is a discipline that everyone] acknowledges is worthwhile while simultaneously ignoring it. There! seems to be something in the human spirit that rebels against time management, despite realizing in benefits. It's rather like eating the! right food - we can acknowledge all the benefits of eating lots of fruit and vegetables, we can even enjoy eating fruits and vegetables- and still pig out on junk food. Thus, ability to ignore time management is very sad. There are! plenty of variations on the theme of 'so much to do so little time to do in it'. Few of us have time to get everything we really want to dpi complete. Few of us manage to efficiently balance, work and home life, business and pleasure, stress and stress relief. Good time! management is more than a nit-picking discipline that will appeal to those who like everything in its place, it is a vehicle for getting morel done and having a better life.
