OF MAN AND HERO: WHERE DOES SUPERMAN FIT IN?
Christopher Garry
DOI : 10.5281/EIIRJ.7120949
Abstract
Certificate
Like many words, the concept of hero is undergoing the typical refinement that dynamic societies can impose on language. Several decades ago, for example, it was easy for a U. S. president to be termed as a hero--Franklin Roosevelt and Dwight Eisenhower come to mind. Yet it's difficult to name our modern presidents as heroes. It's been said that in the fifties, men and women were made heroes--today heroes are men and women. This change in perception of "hero" is exemplified in some super-hero comic books like the familiar Superman. Where the exact definition of "super-hero" may be unclear, this paper attempts to study the comics as a display of a person with heroic characteristics.1

ASHRAMSHALA’S FOR TRIBAL EDUCATION – A STUDY
Dr. Vikas Mane
DOI : 10.5281/EIIRJ.7120956
Abstract
Certificate
Ashramshalas are a major tool of the government to address the educational concern of the tribal students. They are educational entities which are exclusively for the education of the tribal children and are located in tribal-density populations. They intend to cater to the special cultural and educational needs of the tribes. The deficiencies in tribal education, in the form of ashramshala’s, are due to the mainstream society following a school-education model that caters only to the urban mainstream culture, not matching the xenocentric tribal culture. The government and private aided patronage school systems with their infrastructure and academics militate and alienate the tribal children from their own culture, occupational patterns, language and identity. Ashram schools’ overall academic and administrative quality; Access and Participation; Enrollment; Retention; Language of Instruction; Curriculum Content; Teachers and Pedagogy; Community Participation and Ownership are some of the important issues that need to be addressed for improvement in tribal children’s education. A comparative study of the academic performance of tenth standard students in government and private aided schools reveals that a lot needs to be done by the government, mainstream society and parents to raise the standards of tribal education overall.

INTERNATIONAL MARKETING AND ITS CHANGING FACE
Ms. Nandini Dubey
DOI : 10.5281/EIIRJ.7120958
Abstract
Certificate
With the innocence of a child if the theory on “Market for Lemons, Asymmetric Information and Adverse Selection” is studied, one will definitely have an opinion that marketing (domestic or international) is nothing else but FRAUD. Information Technology, Audio visuals today play a portentous role in international brand selling. Today business-to-business or B2B portals act as a hub for sale and resale of goods and services. However these portals are a business unto themselves and the need for marketing is capitalized by B2B portals to grow their own business. Negative externality of international marketing can be witnessed today from the Phishing practices and unscrupulous deal on web as almost all of these are cross border concerns. At present the world is eclipsed by the Dragon’s power of having a comparative advantage in several goods. The paper deals with all such aspects related to international marketing, crony capitalism, trade negotiations, WTO and its strategies and wars as benefits. This paper has mainly an India Centric approach.

AN INTRODUCTORY REVIEW OF VEHICULAR AIR POLLUTIONIN INDIA
Indrajeet Singh Solanki
DOI : 10.5281/EIIRJ.7120984
Abstract
Certificate
Air is the ocean we breathe. Air supplies us with oxygen which is
essential for our bodies to live. Air is 99.9% nitrogen, oxygen, water
vapor and inert gases. Human activities can release substances into the
air, some of which can cause problems for humans, plants, and animals.
Air pollution has been aggravated by developments that typically occur
as countries become industrialized: growing cities, increasing traffic,
rapid economic development and industrialization, and higher levels of
energy consumption. The high influxes of population to urban areas,
increase in consumption patterns and unplanned urban and industrial
development have led to the problem of air pollution. Currently, in
India, air pollution is widespread in urban areas where vehicles are the
major contributors and in a few other areas with a high concentration of
industries and thermal power plants. Vehicular emissions are of
particular concern since these are ground level sources and thus have the
maximum impact on the general population. Also, vehicles contribute
significantly to the total air pollution load in many urban areas.

ADAPTATION OF FICTION INTO CINEMA
Dhavani Joshi
DOI : 10.5281/EIIRJ.7121011
Abstract
Certificate
Art is as old as life itself. Imagining human existence in the absence of art is difficult. Life draws a lot from art and vice versa, be it sculpture, painting, music or literature. Literature or the written letter is a fascinating art and how much the other arts draw from it is a marvel in itself. Amongst all the varied forms that rely heavily on literature, one that cannot go unnoticed in the recent times is that of films. Cinema in comparison to literature is a fairly new art. We call it new because, cinema as a medium developed in the twentieth century as compared to literature that dates back to thousands of years. And in spite of being a fairly new medium, it has managed to grow immensely and has achieved widespread popularity. For a long time now, filmmakers have relied heavily on literary materials to satisfy their quench for subjects and matter.

LOSS OF IDENTITY IN DESAI’S INHERITANCE OF LOSS
Biman Mondal
DOI : 10.5281/EIIRJ.7121025
Abstract
Certificate
Identity may be defined as the distinctive characteristic belonging to any given individual, or shared by all members of a particular social category or group. The formation of one's identity occurs through one's identifications with significant others (primarily with parents and other individuals during one‟s biographical experiences, and also with 'groups' as they are perceived). These others may be benign such that one aspires to their characteristics, values and beliefs (a process of idealistic-identification), or malign when one wishes to dissociate from their characteristics (a process of defensive contra-identification Weinreich gives the definition “A person's identity is defined as the totality of one's self-construal, in which how one construes oneself in the present expresses the continuity between how one construes oneself as one was in the past and how one construes oneself as one aspires to be in the future” ; this allows for definitions of aspects of identity, such as: "One‟s identity is defined as that part of the totality of one‟s self-construal made up of those dimensions that express the continuity between one‟s construal of past ancestry and one‟s future aspirations in relation to ethnicity".

TEACHER EDUCATION IN VARANASI CITY: A SURVEY REPORT
Dr. Minakshi Biswal
DOI : 10.5281/EIIRJ.7121032
Abstract
Certificate
This excerpt from Earth Summit+5: Programme for the further Implementation of Agenda 21 describes the role of education in fostering more sustainable societies.
“Education increases human welfare, and is a decisive factor in enabling people to become productive and responsible members of society. A fundamental prerequisite for sustainable development is an adequately financed and effective educational system at all levels, particularly the primary and secondary levels, that is accessible to all and that augments both human capacity and well being. The core themes of education for sustainability include lifelong learning, interdisciplinary education, partnerships, multicultural education and empowerment. Priority should be given to ensuring women’s and girls’ full and equal access to all levels of education and training. Special attention should also be paid to the training of teachers, youth leaders and other educators. Education should also be seen as a means of empowering youth and vulnerable and marginalized groups, including those in rural areas, through intergenerational partnerships and peer education. Even in countries with strong education systems, there is a need to reorient education, awareness and training so as to promote
widespread public understanding, critical analysis and support for sustainable development. (p 74)”

INDIAN MUSIC AS A THERAPY A BOON TO MEDICAL SCIENCE
Mrs. Durga. Kamat-Nadkarni
DOI : 10.5281/EIIRJ.7121034
Abstract
Certificate
It is very surprising to learn that, although we are all very
human, we are still so different from each other. It is to be understood
that though two people may be dissimilar in so many ways (in terms of
physical features, tastes, thought process), it is still possible to derive
health and happiness by following the same rules of wellness. All of us
begin life as musical infants enjoying the laya yoga of the maternal
rhythm of the heartbeats and her loving crooning of lullaby. Music
therapy brings this loving tender care of the Mother Nature back to the
people who need it. The base of the music therapy is that it is not only
the part of our culture but it is the part of our nature. By promoting our
culture and nature we are healing ourselves of all the discrepancies and
diseases that have crept into our beautiful lives and society. Music
ultimately is the spiritual energy in the human race and harnessing it
with the cosmic energy (GOD), the laya yoga between the „Jivatma‟
and the „Parmatma‟ happens, which cures all the illness of the
world and makes it a better place to live in, in peace and harmony.
