SWAMI VIVEKANAD`S EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
Ravi Singh and Sohan Singh Rawat
DOI : 10.5281/EIIRJ.7158067
Abstract
Certificate
Amongst the contemporary Indian philosophers of education, Swami Vivekananda is
one of those who revolted against the imposition of British system of education in India. He
criticized the pattern of education introduced by the British in India. He pointed out that the
current system of education only brings about an external change without any reflective inner
force. Swami Vivekananda was one of the most influential personality in India in 19th century. It
is the greatness of his thought and his work that even today we are looking up to him for
bringing comprehensive and positive change in our educational and social system. He was the
man with multi-dimensional personality, a powerful orator, a philosopher, an educationist, an
ambassador of renaissance in India, an embodiment of divine quality, a great spiritual leader
and one who generated pride and respect for Indian culture, tradition, education and knowledge
in western world. Rooted in the past and full pride in India`s prestige, Vivekanand was yet
modern in his approach of life`s problems and was a kind of bridge between the past of Indian
and her present. His mission was to serve mankind through social service, mass education,
religious revival and social awakening through education. Keeping faith in ancient Indian
values, culture and tradition he was great admirer of scientific and modern approach towards
learning, understanding, teaching and spreading the knowledge and education. Vivekananda
believed a country's future depends on its people; his teachings focused on the development of
the mass. He wanted to set in motion machinery which will bring noblest ideas to the doorstep of
even the poorest and the meanest. He interpreted the understanding and difference between
Science and spiritualism, beliefs and logic and knowledge and work. Such an impact he had in
Indian society that once Rabindra Nath Tagore himself wrote,“ If u want to know about India,
it must be through Vivekanand.” According to Swami Vivekanand every kind of knowledge is
essential for all kind of developments. One of his important contributions to education is concept
of self-employment education for the students so that they can be able to generate opportunities
for themselves. He raised his voice for women`s education and their empowerment. Physical
education and modern scientific education enriched with morality were his priority in education.
Swami Vivekanad`s Philosophical thought`s were so revolutionary that even today educational
bodies and institutions are trying hard to follow these process for the overall development of the
students. Such is the impact of Vivekanad`s educational philosophy in today`s world.

AUTONOMIC COMPUTING: ARCHITECTURE, APPLICATION AND CHALLENGES
Abhang Swati Ashok
DOI : 10.5281/EIIRJ.7158136
Abstract
Certificate
Advances in computing and communication technologies and software tools have
resulted in an explosive growth in networked-applications and information services that cover
all aspects of our life. These services and applications are inherently complex, dynamic and
heterogeneous. Similarly, the underlying information infrastructures such as the Internet are
complex, heterogeneous and dynamic. This combination exacerbates complexities related to
application development, configuration and management, and makes current computing
paradigms brittle and inefficient. As a result, applications, programming environments and
information infrastructures are rapidly becoming unmanageable, insecure and inefficient when
handling runtime changes. This has led researchers to consider alternative programming
paradigms and management techniques that are based on strategies used by biological systems
to deal with complexity, dynamism, heterogeneity and uncertainty. Autonomic computing is
inspired by the human autonomic nervous system that handles complexity and uncertainties, and
aims at realizing computing systems and applications capable of managing themselves with
minimum human intervention.

Corruption is operationally defined as the misuse of entrusted power for private gain.
Transparency International further differentiates between “according to rule” corruption &
“against the rule” corruption. Facilitation payments, where a bribe is paid to receive
preferential treatment. What is corruption for something that the bribe receiver is required to do
by law, constitute the former. The latter, on the other hand is a bribe paid to obtain services the
bribe receiver is prohibited from providing.

UNIVERSITY-INDUSTRY PARTNERING FOR E-RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT – AN APPROACH
A.Ananda Ramesh
DOI : 10.5281/EIIRJ.7158160
Abstract
Certificate
In the information era, creation and management of resources which ignites knowledge
domain in the process of education and research at higher level gains prominence. Higher
education today is changing from a conventional way of campus based university into an internet
based virtual university (Walmiki and Ramakrishnegowda, 2009). Internet has altered the ways
in which the higher education and research activities are carried out. Today, e-resources
development is an area required to be explored through intensive research. The process of
building strategies to create e-resources requires collaborative efforts from beneficiaries for
knowledge creation. Universities and research institutes are highly involved in partnering to
develop e-resources through collaborative online libraries. In India, Association of Indian
Universities created INFLIBNET to cater the needs of the users through e-resources to promote
academic research which facilitates the industries in particular and society in general.
Universities are facilitating industries by providing efficient human resources to achieve their
goals with available resources. It is also the responsibility of the industries in turn to facilitate
the Universities by creating adequate and contemporary resources which may be in the form of
e-resources to reach the users at macro level. This paper is administered to study the present
status of e-resources to promote higher education and to study the collaborative initiatives of
industries with universities to create e-resources for enhanced knowledge dissemination in
higher education.

A UNIQUE COLLECTION OF LITERARY WORKS OFTEN CONFUSED (PART-II)
Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Bansal
DOI : 10.5281/EIIRJ.7158170
Abstract
Certificate
After reading British, Indian, American & some Commonwealth literature, I found huge
works scattered here and there in various books which sometimes confuses the readers/
competitors in the examination hall due to the inherent similarities in these entitled works. To
avoid this type of common confusion, I planned to search and arrange the important works first ,
their similarity wise and their frequency wise and then I compiled an exhaustive list of these
selected works to facilitate the learners to make clear cut distinction among the various titles of
the literary works. My research paper is based on the principles of effective teaching- learning
and effective memorization. My research paper is also entertaining since it enhances the concept
of -Learning is Fun. This is my attempt in the pedagogy of teaching-learning of English
Literature. I hope my collection will help the students as well as teachers who can frame
confusing Multiple Choice Questions (M.C.Q) to refine their learning and also to check the
depth of students’ learning. This research paper will be more useful to those who have read at
least once The History of English Literature. It will make the readers to realize similar titles of
the different literary works as dissimilar and vice-versa. I have divided my research paper in two
parts, as Part-I & Part-II. This paper is the continuance of my previous research paper & there
are around 850 literary works included in it which readers often confused and these works are
not the last but the least.

The present study is confined to manufacture of transport equipments and parts industry of organised
manufacturing sectors of Punjab for the period of 1980-81 to 2002-03, at three digit level. Major source of data for
the study is Annual Survey of Industries (ASI). Employment elasticity with respect to output in transport equipment
and parts industry turned to be low and positive in pre-reform as well as post-reform period. Marginal productivity
of capital is positive but marginal productivity of labour is negative for transport equipment and parts industry. In
transport equipment and parts industry the negative and significant value (in pre-reform period) of employment
elasticity with respect to capital puts a question mark on the absorption of labour with increase in capital. Output
elasticity with respect to capital is negative for manufacture of railway, tramway locomotive and rolling stock
industry (NIC-352) in pre-reform period, and negative significant for manufacture of transport n.e.c. industry
(NIC-359) in post-reform period, puts a question mark on the extension of production capacity.
