Buddhism is a complex subject, a philosophy that has evolved in many different ways and
various regions of Asia, and is still a living faith today. However, if we take the trouble to go to the
words of the Buddha himself, we find a full and rich teaching encompassing every aspect of human
life, with a great deal of practical advice on how to live with integrity, wisdom and peace in the
midst of a confusing world. Perhaps it is time for such teaching to be more widely disseminated. In
this paper I have tried to discuss the Buddhist perspective on the subject of economic thoughts and
theories. While not seeking to present a comprehensive Buddhist economic theory, I have tried to
provide tools for reflection, ways of looking at economic questions based on a considered
appreciation of the way things are, the way we are. I hope that presenting this paper may go at
least a short way towards resolving what has been called the current 'impasse of economics,' and
to awaken researchers and academicians to the wide-reaching contemporary relevance of the
timeless truths that the Buddha discovered and shared with us. This paper takes a different
approach -- a spiritual approach. As such, it does not delve into the technical intricacies of
economics. Instead it examines the fundamental fears, desires and emotions that motivate our
economic activities.
Constructivism is a new approach in education that claims humans are better able to understand the
information they have constructed by themselves. According to constructivist theories, learning is a social
advancement that involves language, real world situations, and interaction and collaboration among
learners. Co-operative learning strategies are based on social constructivism which is one of the main
streams of constructivism. In this concept, students work in a small group and collectively for better
learning. Students get the chance for the active participation than the passive listener like in traditional
teaching methods. In the present study, an attempt was made to check the effectiveness of co-operative
learning strategies and Lecture method on B. Ed students in Science Education subject. The Post Test- Only,
Two Equivalent Groups – Experimental and control group Design was used for the present research. A
significant achievement was seen in experimental group based on co-operative learning strategies as
compare to control group instructed by Lecture method in B. Ed students

The petrological, geochemical and fluid inclusion characters of Cordierite bearing gneisses of Kulappara are reported in this study. The common mineral assemblages of the quarry were identified as Garnet + Sillimanite + Cordierite + K-feldspar + Biotite + Quartz + Plagioclase + Rutile with accessory mineral such as Zircon and Monazite. The symplectite and granoblastic textures were obtained from the samples which revealed that the prograde and retrograde metamorphic mineral reaction might have prevailed during partial melting. The parentage material of the Kulappara Khondalitequarry might have been derived from Pelitic rocks. The presence of CO2 rich fluids were observed entirely in the quarry
Wetlands are ecosystems or habitats for specific plants and animals that are saturated with water, the presence or absence of water determines their formation, processes and characteristics. Wetlands are of great importance to man and nature as it purifies water, reduces flood, stores water, prevents soil erosion and supports varied biodiversities. Starting about thousands of years in urban areas of the world and typically a few hundred years ago in most of the coastal areas, humanity has profoundly impacted, degraded or destroyed many coastal wetlands worldwide by direct physical degradation, pollution or dumping them for settlement purpose. The present study tries to evaluate the public perception about the wetlands. Stratified sampling method is adopted to select the sample from the population through questionnaire having 24 basic questions on the reality and myths associated with the wetlands.
SHGs are novel and innovative organizational setup in India for the women upliftment
and welfare. All women in India are given chance to join any one of SHGs for training
and development, so as to be prospective entrepreneur and skilled worker. The SHGs are
promoted by the Government as if women in India may not be resourceful enough to be
entrepreneurs. When the SHGs arrange training facilities to carry out certain kind of
work which are suitable for women in India, bank must arrange financial assistance to
carry out manufacturing and trading activities, arranging marketing facilities while the
Governments will procure the product of SHGs, arrange for enhancing the capacity of
women in terms of leadership quality and arranging for the management of SHGs by
themselves so as to have administrative capacity. As a social movement with
government support. SHGs become more or less a part and parcel of the society.
Slum mapping is not standardized, but persistently arises subsequently two types of approaches, promulgated by the World Bank and UNDP. The previous uses an expenditure-based econometric method, established on small area approximation. The concluding uses a value absorbed method, founded on its amalgamated human development indicator. Such presentations are likewise stated to as the „unconvinced basic necessities‟ catalogs, used in South America and some European countries. (Baud, Pfeffer, Sridharan, & Nainan, 2009).
Groundwater pollution is one of the major concerns as it is directly related to human health. Gulbarga is one among the districts where the fluoride concentration is very high. The present study shows the fluoride concentration in Gulbarga taluk ranged between 1.61 and 5.17 mg/l. A simple correlation study is carried out to understand the relationship among the few available physicochemical parameters. The observed correlation relationship indicates that there is a strong interdependence among fluoride, pH, TH, TDS and elevation in the present study area. The study revealed that the entire taluk of Gulbarga is having fluoride concentration higher than the permissible limits. The authors are of the opinion that there is an urgent need of testing the water quality of all the drinking water wells in the taluk as a public health concern and identify safe drinking water sources in the taluk.
Key words: Fluoride, Gulbarga, Correlation, Groundwater
Preparing and implementing master plans in India have been criticized for numerous reasons such as inefficiency in addressing challenges of land acquisition, degradation in urban poverty and inequality, social inclusion, inadequacy of infrastructure facilities and lack of urban services. The challenges Indian cities are facing demands renewed attention and innovative thinking for better and effective planning which is however yet to be produced. Significance of the study lies with the growing urbanization, increase in the number of master plans and growing consciousness to have an inclusive and participatory planning approach. Despite several alternatives have been suggested over the years yet none of them were realized practically. Thus the master plans needs to be flexible, inclusive, transparent and accountable which would help in reducing the gap in plan preparation and implementation.

Educationally, Kerala stands today at the threshold of excellence. The state has been able to
achieve and sustain universal access to school education. It has world class social indicators against
its name. Then also it is lagging behind several states within the country in terms of economic
development. It is at the top of the unemployment chart. Causes for this paradox need to be analysed
before the steep fall of the state economy. In this study we tried to know the trends and pattern of state
financing and public expenditure on higher education. Lower per capita expenditure and less
expenditure of allocated budget on higher education is responsible for declining the quality of higher
education in the state. Recommendations were also given in order to improve the condition of higher
education in the state.
Good health is no doubt a prerequisite for global livability of man, and it is a critical component of societal needs, hence a need for equitable distribution of health facilities as a factor for sustaining the population in cities. Accessibility to health facilities has a strong influence on people’s earning capacity and it is fundamental to people’s ability to enjoy and appreciate other aspects of life.

This paper focuses on the post-lexical tonal properties in Thadou and Mizo, the two Kuki Chin languages spoken in North-East India, and tries to typologize them based on the interaction of phonetic and phonological modules in the grammar of these languages. The paper investigates the different downtrending phenomenon like the declination, downdrift and downstep and accounts how the pitch is realized differently in each of these languages. The study reveals that the gradient implementation of certain phenomena in the phonetic component may be severely constrained by the nature of the lexical and post-lexical phonological component in a language. The results of this investigation thus reveal two varied types of post-lexical tones among the Kuki-Chin group of languages.
Groundwater is a renewable natural resource that is over exploited for drinking as well
as industrial and agriculture purposes all over the world. The quality of the groundwater
depends on its physical, chemical and bacteriological characteristics. The quality of
drinking water is directly related to human health. Samples are collected from bore wells
from different locations such that they are spatially distributed in the study area. The
concentration of all the parameters are within the permissible limits for all the samples
except sample number 3 where the concentration of bicarbonate, magnesium and total
hardness is above the permissible limits. The present study revealed that all the sampled
wells of Madaragalli village are yielding the water that is very hard which may not be
suitable for consumption. The author suggests the people living in the study area to
purify the water before consumption.

We are living in a world marked by growing conflict, both in terms of its frequency and intensity. Filled with a constant overflowing tension within our communities, our countries, our world, we have seen that any interaction at any moment can erupt into violence. Diversity is the law of the nature, and respect for diversity ensures peace within and between the communities and regions. While celebrating and nurturing the diversity across the world we must promote a culture of peace so that generations to come will live in peace. At present the world is facing many, often overlapping, crisis including financial, security, environmental and other socio-economic challenges hindering the peace and development. Considering what we have achieved and lost over the decades, I believe that peace and development are the two most common interests across the world. Our political standpoints may differ, our faith may differ but we share many common interests which are extremely important to ensure sustainable peace and development in the world. The greatest challenge for the current leadership is to ensure meaningful engagement of people in creating an enabling environment for sustainable peace through dialogue.

The religious community known as „Kabirpanth‟, formed after the name of Kabir,
seems to be striking its organizational roots in the years following Kabir‟s Samadhi
(death), but it was probably not well known by this name till his death. All the available
textual evidences and oral tradition indicate that despite Kabir‟s widespread popularity
both in royal and popoular circles, scribes of the time do not refer to this word
Kabirpanth (the path of Kabir) in their texts. Yet we have evidences to believe that
certain places where Kabir himself had either visited or were invited as a jinda pir or a
living guru, most of these places, saw the emergence of centres of devotion, involving
active support of Kabir followers in all possible manners- financially, physically and
religiously. These centres gradually grew into the congregational points and came to
form a group of distinct religious panth called Kabirpanth in coming centuries. Kabir is
said to have died in early sixteenth century. There seems to be consensus both among
academic scholars and the sectarian believers on the year of Kabir‟s death at Magahar
in 1518.

The manager strives to maintain a proper link between top management and the employees. The quality of performance of the employees depends on the leadership, Knowledge, Skills, Attitude(KSA) and the talent of a manager. The manager has to be multi-intelligent with a nice blend of Intelligent Quotient-IQ, Emotional Quotient-EQ,Social Quotient-SQ and of course Cultural Quotient-CQ or Cultural Intelligence (CI).If a leader is culturally intelligent then he can motivate the organization and labour force to be culturally intelligent. Studies found that IQ remains same in all ages but Cultural Intelligence (CI) changes as per experience and training. As the Economy becomes increasingly global, the workforce becomes increasingly diverse. In every organization the Human Resource is Heterogeneous & Diverse in nature.
Cultural Intelligence is, “A person‟s capability for successful adaptation to new cultural settings, that is, for unfamiliar settings attributable to cultural context.”(Earley and Ang2003)
Cultural Intelligence (CI) is Multidimensional construct .Cultural intelligence is proven to reduce attrition, attract & retain top talent ,improve innovation, promote leadership and make multicultural teams more effective.
When Cultural Intelligence levels are high in organisations, diverse teams perform better in several areas :innovation, cost saving, productivity, efficiency, employee engagement, profitability, etc. To overcome the challenges in Diversity management, the diversity training inclusive of Cultural Intelligence training is desirable. The data is collected through questionnaire from57 managers of various organizations to judge the awareness of CQ and also to know whether any tailor- made efforts are initiated in organizations or not. Also the attempt is made to know whether CQ and work performance are related with each other.

The study entitled Semantic Level of Language of Children with Cochlear Implant and Normal Hearing was conducted with the purpose to find out the receptive and expressive semantic level of language of children with cochlear implant and normal hearing. Total 50 children in the age range of 5-7 years were conveniently selected from mainstream schools, special schools and therapy centers from Mumbai as a sample for study. Out of which 25 were cochlear implanted children and 25 children were having normal hearing. A standardized tool, Linguistic Profile Test (LPT) developed by AYJNIHH (1992) was administered to assess the receptive and expressive semantic level of language of children with cochlear implant and normal hearing. Descriptive survey design was used for study. The data analysed by using’ test and R package. A significant difference was found between the receptive and expressive semantic level of language of children with cochlear implant and normal hearing. The result indicated that the children with cochlear implant have less receptive and expressive semantic level of language compare to normal hearing children. The study concluded that this could have happened because of less frequency of using cochlear implant, lack of post cochlear implant therapies, inappropriate listening environment from the family. However the fact cannot be denied that the children normally display a phenomenal growth in linguistic skills in their every year, with cochlear implant children need to get linguistic communicative environment.

He prepared a plan for this and he described the plan as transforming the India as a nation into a developed country as developed india. In this plan there are many areas of the progress of the nation. Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is one of the important area for the rapid progress and ultimately the prosperity of the India.

(Girish Karnad’s Nagamandala is an important play that underlines the mythical reality of Indian
traditional society. It makes a critical comment on the exploitative nature of the society, established
traditional norms of the society are unfair towards women. In this research paper, how Girish Karnad
used this traditional myth to highlight the positivity of the established norms. Newly married Rani
comes into her husband’s house full of expectations that she would get showers of comforts from her
husband but on the contrary, that husband has had illicit relations with a mistress. He locks her in the
house and only comes for lunch. Despite that Rani beseeches that and makes a full-blown attempt to
attract her husband towards her. This research paper argues that in the traditional society woman has
been glorified therefore with that pseudo glorification women do not dare to go against the established
flow of the society.)
