over the years. Considering the history of education and systematic development of educational branches, hospitality
is comparatively a much younger form of education. It has been passed on from generations to generations and yet
it’s documented and frame worked education started just a little more than century back.
Covid – 19 pandemic touched every aspect and literal part of human life and education was definitely no exception.
Pandemic hit lives directly and indirectly. With education system not completely evolved to go in virtual mode and
with vocational education like hospitality which needs greater practical exposure, it definitely is a long term challenge
for educators and students. Tourism & hospitality industry is directly affected with pandemic shows effect on the
aspirants of this career.
The research paper focuses on the challenges faced by the teaching community and the solutions opted to overcome
those challenges. The research also attempts to evaluate the outcome of the solutions practiced and whether these
solutions are only temporary remedies or can be further evolved as a permanent methodologies. This research reaches
to an open end of the outcome since neither the pandemic is yet over nor the hospitality education is going to stop.
Hospitality education is ever evolving since this industry itself is ever growing and encompassing every inch of the
globe and every aspect of the human culture.

Before the outbreak of COVID-19, the tourism industry was the fastest growing industry all over the world. Many
countries in European continent, UAE and South Asian region have been developing the tourism business giving them
good revenue.
Among the fast-growing business activities, the tourism industry had occupied a fair position in terms of employment
and foreign exchange earning throughout the world as well as India. Available data on tourism indicated that around
9% of the people in the economy are employed in this sector. The foreign exchange earnings from this sector were
5931 million US dollars in 2005-06. India is blessed with a wide and diverse climatic condition, culture, history,
beautiful coastline.
Sudden outbreak of COVID-19 has shaken almost all types of economic activities worldwide. Of all these, Tourism
industry has been affected the most. The present study focuses on the impact of COVID-19 on tourism industry in India.
The study reviewed the online reading material, reports and articles.
It is concluded that with a set of necessary efforts and hygiene maintenance at tourist places, tourists can be assured

Digital India is a campaign launched by the Government of India in order to ensure that Government's services are
made available to citizens electronically by improved online infrastructure and by increasing Internet connectivity or
making the country digitally empowered in the field of technology. The initiative includes plans to connect rural areas
with high-speed internet networks. Digital India consists of three core components: the development of secure and
stable digital infrastructure, delivering government services digitally, and universal digital literacy. Launched by
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 1 July 2015, it is a beneficiary of other key Government of India schemes,
such as Make in India, Bharat Net, Startup India and Standup India, Bharatmala, industrial corridors, Sagarmala.
The objective of digital India is connecting rural areas with high-speed Internet networks and improving digital
literacy. The vision of Digital India programme is inclusive growth in areas of electronic services, products,
manufacturing and job opportunities. This paper attempts to highlight the different challenges faced by the Digital
India Programmed. It describes the different opportunities of the programmer for the people of the country. Digital
Technologies which include Cloud Computing and Mobile Applications have emerged as catalysts for rapid economic
growth and citizen empowerment across the globe. Digital technologies are being increasingly used by us in everyday
lives from retail stores to government offices. They help us to share information on issues and concerns faced by us

only few sources of energy on earth due to that each and every sector focuses on Eco Friendly Practices and hospitality
industry is not left behind. To protect the natural resources hotel industry started conserving energy, by implementing
several green practices such as linen reuse program, adjustable temperature control, occupancy sensors, recycling
programmes and many more. Due to the increased level of awareness in guests about environmental issues, the
Acceptance of environmental concerns continues to increases in hotel industry. Acknowledging this very fact, the
present study focuses on Investigating the influence of eco-friendly practices implemented in star category hotels of
Delhi-NCR along with the major challenges faced by the hotels in the implementation of green practices in their
operations. A well-structured questionnaire was developed to collect information from the hotel personnel. The results
indicated that there are certain eco-friendly practices like garbage disposal, installation of sewage treatment plant,
usage of dual flush in bathrooms, electronic key cards and energy efficient lighting are mostly exercised practices in
all the star category hotels of Delhi-NCR. The findings also revealed that initial investment cost for green set-up is
very high which is one of the prime challenge faced by the hotels in the implementation of green practices

population of 138 Crore only 55% people are using Internet. That means half of the population is still deprived of the
internet. This statistics shows that still we are far away from the dream of becoming digitally empowered country in

World Health Organization (WHO) announced Coronavirus or COVID-19 as a pandemic on 11th February 2020. It is
a respiratory disease. Its first case was reported in China in December 2019. After this disease spread worldwide
creating an enormous impact on education, economic and society. The impact of COVID-19 on economy had because
of two reasons. First shut down of financial markets, corporate offices, businesses and events. Second the exponential
rate at which the virus was spreading the uncertainty of how bad the situation could get led to flight to safety
consumption and investment among consumers, investors and international trade partners. The novel Coronavirus
and the containment measures posed a challenge to human interaction by maintaining social distancing and isolation
which created a huge impact on social relations. Social connections interactions and relations have become integral

has provided basic resources to underprivileged section to combat the tough situation .
CSR is a “self-regulating business model” that implies the procedures of interaction by a company with its
stakeholders and the general public at large, creating a scenario of being socially responsible. Like it is rightly said,
‘Money belongs to you, but resources belong to the society’. In view of the spread of COVID-19 and the decision of
the Government of India to treat this as a notified disaster, was quick to clarify that spending of CSR funds for COVID-
19 shall be considered as an eligible CSR activity. Between the needed one and the provider the NGO’s are playing
vital role. They have really emerged out as a real supporter. The present study describe the initiatives taken by various
NGO’s in support with the corporate thus to provide a relief and aid to restructure the lives those who suffered the
most during the pandemic situation. The data was collected through primary and secondary sources and the research
is primarily descriptive in nature .The data has been collected mainly from the NGO’s operational in Bhiwandi Block,
Thane District, of Maharashtra. The study has shown that during pandemic companies have supported the society in
varied ways. With the help of local NGO’s the corporate have tried to provide the help to the deprived section and
thus act as a warrior to fight against the odds of life aroused out of the present pandemic situation.

Remote Learning as a concept has been around since a long time. But the current pandemic has brought it
to the forefront. We hear terms like online learning, video recording, webinars used predominantly in the
current scenario. Education has shifted from the classroom to online platforms.
Teachers have to now compulsorily take live lectures online, go live on YouTube and many other platforms
(synchronous teaching) or by uploading recorded lectures and also giving online assignments, homework
(asynchronous teaching), to provide continuity in education to the student community.
However, the perspective of student community needs to be taken into consideration. Students are the main
beneficiaries of the teaching process – be it in classroom or online (synchronous or asynchronous). There is
a need to identify whether online teaching learning is actually benefitting the students.
This study is an attempt to find out the perspective of students pursuing Higher Education towards Remote
Learning especially during this pandemic and whether it would be acceptable to them in the future as well.
It also attempts to find out whether Remote Learning is set to become the new norm. The study would try to
find out the issues relevant to Remote Learning and whether there exists an Urban – Suburban divide in the
comfort with Remote Learning process amongst students.
A survey of around 100 Commerce Students would be conducted to find out their perspective about Remote
Learning. Statistical tools would be used to find out whether an Urban and Suburban divide exists in the way
students are comfortable with Remote Learning.
